How do you remove the turn signal arm?

My cruise control is acting up, it goes to full throttle every time I slide the switch over to the ON position, and I think the switch at the end of the arm might be bad, how do I take it off so I can check it out? Would there be another reason the cruise would do this? Thanks

Make sure everything is off and it pulls straight out.
