HOT = NO HP
Why does my car feel like it loses 40HP when fully warmed up? The grunt just isn't there.
I'm running a 160deg thremo and jet fan switch. Car never passes the half mark on the guage for coolant but gets as high as 210deg oil.

For every 10F increase in intake air temperature, power decreases by about 1%.
Also it could be your tune. You could either be running too rich or too lean.

If I remember correctly, the computer doubles the fuel while the engine's below 140 or 150, something like that.. Which would be why it seems like your car has so much more power when it's cold. But then, going around at WOT with a cold engine is hell on it...

A friend of mine mentioned that it may be my wires. They are 8mm taylors (about a year old). He says that the heat rating may be causing my problem. My neighbour had a VW Golf that would barely start when fully warmed up. He swapped his wires (AC I think) which were pretty new with stock Bosch units and the thing works perfect now. Anywone else have 8mm taylors?

I run the 8 mm taylors and had to replace them. 2 years old. check the wires in total darkeness at night if they are arcing switch them out. Look especially at the boots over the plugs while giving the car some juice.
Good luck.
