you could run hooks off the circle holes in the A-arms. or off the engine crossmember.

It would probably be easiest to hook it to something under the hood. Like the removal hooks on the motor if they are still there. You could probably screw a hook to a strut mount bolt and use that. It doesn't take that much force to pull a car onto a trailer, it wouldn't damage the strut mount or throw off the alignment.b

nice drawing. i've pulled cars up trailers off the engine crossmember and the a-arm holes, that's how tow trucks do it as well. If it's not an enclosed trailer i don't see why you don't just drive it up the trailer anyways? and if there's no motor in the car then that'll be even easier since the front end will be higher. I've seen some people tie into the front crash bar as well to pull it up, but i've never had problems my way.

haha thanks, instead of coming to wyotech i should have gone to graphing designing school I Know thats how towtrucks do it, but it just does not seem possible in my mind to do especially w/ the air-dam in the way. When im in chassis fab i plan on building some bumper brakets, and the one in the front having a removeable I hook mounted threw the grill to pull the car up the trailer, if need be. Im thinking for now i might pass on a winch, but im not sure, i cannot see the car or trailer for anouther month.

Front swaybar worked fine for me when we towed it to my uncle's place to swap the engine. It would work fine for this too I'd imagine.

You could also reverse your drawing and having a mount in the engine when the car is at peak heigth on the ramps it'll want to tug down on the nose piece?

I just drive the car up, or the few times I had troubles, hit the bumper warmer and had some guys help shove it on. Winch will be installed after new paint on trailer this year, they're priceless!!!

When I strap my car down when road tripping I have the front 2" straps criss crossed front the factory transport holes by the lower radiator support. The front air dam is very resilient, got thousands of mile with my air dam bent at 45*+ angle and it always comes back to the way it's supposed to.

Aside from laying on your belly and trying to fit under your car to hook a line upto the K member, we've welded U bolts to the front K members on other cars we've had and just hammered them up so ground clearacne is not an issue. But as low as mine sits I cant imagine doing that!!!

so your saying i would have to push the car partway up the ramps in order to use the winch?

"You don't HAVE to do anything" But that would make attaching to whatever your going to attach to if you do an underneath hook alot cleaner on your clothes.

If your loading/strapping a car to a trailer you might as well figure on getting a little dirty weather your laying on your gut trying to hook the winch hook to the underside of your car, or laying on your gut on the trailer hooking up the tie down straps, your laying on your gut and whatever is below your belly will now be on your belly

Brother in law got by with a 1500lb ATV winch on his trailer pulling his 3400lbs Regal up.

We used a 3500lb Super Winch for about 3yrs on buddies trialer and that thing was a monster. We pulled a 78 conversion van with 4 flat tires and loaded with engine blocks up the ramps to take in for scrap money!! It never broke a sweat for regualr rolling cars, and did'nt seem to sweat too much hauling ridiculious loads like the van filled with engine blocks, 76 Caprice classic with 4 flat and rear end locked up tigh.

I'm going to try Mile Marker's 2000lb on my trailer since I have no intention to scrap out anthing that nasty on my trialer, but if I wanted to I'd just block and tackle it to get more power.
