Different CTS Connectors?

Hey all... I have a bad CTS (stuck at 61.9 ohms no matter the temp), and I need to replace it. Problem is that none of the parts stores around here carry the right one.

This is out of my '88 305 TPI, and the two-pin connector is different from the two-pin connector on my '86. The ones in the stores (along with the one in the '86) are the same type of connector head as the IAT which has the regular ol' plastic type holding clip.

The CTS's out of my two '88's and my '89 IROCs are the type with a metal clip that you push up from underneath the sensor.

So, where am I to go to get the right connector? Anyone? Thanks ahead of time. - John '89 L98

Ive never seen one like that... AFAIK from what I remember, they are all the same through the years... the MAT is even interchangeable with it.

Does it have a yellow wire and a black wire running to it?

Thanks for the reply, but you'll never guess what I did... I somehow forgot that with an '88, I have a cold start injector switch. So... no wonder I couldn't get a proper ohm readin out of it. The CTS turned out to be good after all. Now on to a new post since what I thought was wrong, is not wrong... <sigh>

John,

injector plug (TPI).Same thing.(Metal spring clip, right?)I got mine from Auto-Zone, you can also find them at Pep-Boys........

John,
......I should have kept reading, the plug I'm referring to is for the cold start injector switch...

You could have spliced the wires together if the connectors are different.

Thanks guys, but the CTS was fine. And yeah, the spring clip connector was for the cold start valve switch or whatever it's called. Anyway, the CTS was good, but I posted my original problem under "Hard Start Unless Pedal Depressed". Anyway, thanks again. - John '89 L98
