oil leak????
I want to know if any one else has had this problem before well on day i changed the valve covers on my 1992 camaro rs for those new chrome ones and omg its not worth it first of all you cant even see the valve covers because of all the air system lines and hoses and secnod of all its a B**** to get them on. Any way to my problem i was on day driving and was doing about 80mph on the high way and i saw a BIG LONG WHITE CLOUD OF SMOKE and i freaked out and pulled over. I oped the hood and found drops of oil all over my new chrome valve covers only on the passenger side and did not see a leak anywhere!
what the hell is going on? and oh the big a** cloud of smoke was form my Whole (cat) being soked with oil.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say:
- is it your valve cover gasket?
- is it your breather/PCV?
- is it your intake manifold gasket? (doubtful)

check your valve cover gasket again. it's probably leaking from the back. dont just look at it though, get a white paper towel and rub it on the back where your valve cover gasket meets the head. u might want to check to see if there's oil around the distributor or on the back of the block where the intake sits on the block... there's many places where it could leak but it looks like it's most likely your valve cover gasket. check it out (again if you have to).

If the oil is ON TOP OF the valve covers, it's probably not from the gasket. Oil on headers/manifolds however could easily be from there.
If these are typical aftermarket valve covers, they have no baffle under the breather holes. Those stupid breathers you have to use, always spew oil out at higher RPMs.
Just one more reason not to spend money on such things as chrome valve covers; it's just using your own money as the weapon to shoot yourself in the shorts. They NEVER EVER fit or work right.
