To anybody with a cooler fan switch...

I need to find a fan switch for a TPI that comes on lower than 180'

I need to know if someone makes one that comes on about 160, 170 range.

Any help is greatly appreciated, if you have part #s, thats even better.

Thanks

Definitly, i believe TPIS has them in their catalog, and Scoggin's Dickey i believe has them also. I'm sure there are others but they are slipping away from me right now.

The problem with all the aftermarket switches, especially the low temp models like Hypertech and Jet, is that you cannot turn them off. You do not need such a low-temp switch during the winter.

Go with a Hayden 3647 as outlined in my article on this website. It's an electronic module that's adjustable from 160 to 210. Just don't wire it as per the instructions. These instructions are geared to add an electric fan to a vehicle that does not have one. E-mail me for instructions on how to wire it so you do not defeat ECM control of the fan, yet retain full adjustability through the Hayden module.

If you have an Autozone parts store around there, go buy the $20 adjustable switch from them! It's simple to hook up... splices into the wires coming off the fan and uses a temp probe that you attach to the radiator! I use this switch and it works great! In the summer I use a 160 t-stat and in the winter I put in the 180 t-stat.... this adjustable temp switch allows me to just simply turn the **** and adjust when the fan comes on depending on the temp t-stat that I'm using! Trust me, it's well worth the $20 for it's ease of use and versatility... not to mention that it's cheaper than buying a cooler replacement temp switch!! Also, if I'm not mistaken, the stock fan switch is located in the passenger side head and is not the easiest sensor to get to!! Oh yeah, if you buy this adjustable switch and someone tries to tell you that you need a relay to hook up with it, ignore them because the adjustable switch has a built in relay so you don't have to worry about hooking one up!

I'll call the Autozone here tomorrow and get the brand name and part number and then I'll get back to you! Even if you don't have an Autozone there, you may be able to find another parts store that carries the switch!

I bought the CSI adjustable Gauge. I had the derale first and it didnt work very good. It has a probe (sensor) that goes in the radiator fins. The CSI gauge screws into the head or intake manifold for direct contact with the water. The Gauge is adjustable from 100-300 if I remember right. It will dim with your headlights for night use. It also keeps track of the Highest temp since the key has been on.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you! The adjustable fan switch that I'm using that Autozone sells is made by Imperial Automotive Products and the part number is 226203

Hope this help!

Well the one I have cost me $20 and it's nothing fancy but I've been using it for over 2 years now with no problems other than having to replace the power wire after about a year because it was too small! Save yourself the future pain and get thicker wire... I think I'm using 14 gauge.... that or 12 would be what I would suggest... and make sure you fuse it, I can't remember for sure but I don't think it comes with a fuse!
