Compression Height

I am planning on building a 383 to replace my sorry little 2.8L. This will be a street motor that will see some track time *hopefully* this spring. My main concern is using a 6" rod. I am concerned about longevity in this combo with a compression height of only 1.125" This will a N/A motor - no nitrous, no boost.

Here's what I have to work with:

383ci
Scat 9000 crank 3.75" (9-350-3750-6000-L)
Scat 6" I-beam rods (2-ICR6000)
SpeedPro HE pistons (8KH124CL30)
CompCams XR276HR (08-503-8)
AFR 195cc street head (1038)

Will a 1.125" compression height be sufficient? What are your opinions?

Why not use a 5.85" rod length?

I'm trying to keep this build as cheap as possible within reason. 6" rods and pistons are typically cheaper and easier to find.
