Crankshaft ?

Im getting ready to do a mild build for my Iroc and I was thinking of going 383 because it would be the same price as a 350(355) but I know that most 3.75 cranks are from or for 400 block and need a 400 flex plate and balancer but I was thinking of getting a 3.75 crank with 350 main and was wondering if I stil needed the 400 flex plate and balancer or could I use the ones that I currently have on my 350

In short yes, your not getting a 400 crank, you are getting a 383 stroker crank with a 3.75" stroke. Now there is internally balanced 383 cranks and externally balanced 383 cranks. Most are externally balanced, meaning you need a 400 flexplate and balancer.
