My engine runs like a go-cart
Well I changed my oil yesterday and for some reason put all 5 quarts of oil in the car (1989 V6). The first time I drove it the car had no power and sputtered. I got to my friends house and drained a quart out and checked the oil and it seems fine. The engine is still running poorly and about 30 seconds after starting it, it felt normal for about 3 seconds. The car shakes ALOT once I hit 3000rpms. I am guessing I either bumped a spark plug or the oil fouled something. Any ideas.

Oil would not have fouled anything...even if it was overfilled. Look for something else, not sure what it could be since an oil change doesn't get near/around anything that affects the way an engine runs.

I agree probably coincidental that it happened at the same time. Maybe you caused it by doing the oil change, by loosening something, moving something etc. But the oil change itself shouldn't cause this.

vibrations, runs poorly, soundslike a missfire to me, but i dont have any idea other then that, check the resistance in yopur wires, and check your plugsl if you have a propane torch, you can recondition the plugs with that.
but if it runs poorly and vibrates it, from my expereince is froma cyclender not fireing like it should, make sure thats not it...
other then that, only idea i have is, did you use the right kinda oil?

Yep, too much oil fouled a plug so I was running on 5 cylinders. I changed them and the car is doing great. Just thought I'd mention that since some made it seem like that isn't possible.

Thats becuase its not possible. I dont see how 1/2 a quart or even 2 quarts over could foul a plug unless that cylinder happens to have no rings sealing at all.

Well I'm not car expert but one plug was fouled by oil the first time I started my car after putting a bit too much oil in.

Sound to me that a plug wire was somehow knocked loose when you changed his oil and when he put new plugs in he corrected the problem and didnt even know it. I bet a plug wire is going bad and most likley causing a intermitant short.
