Car Stalled at light, wont start

Ok i was at a light kjust 30 minutes ago, and all the sudden my lights dim and i notice the car is dead.

Tried to restart it until the car battery died, but i then noticed the fuel pump, i didn't hear it....

Where is the fuse, the relay, the pump cant be it, no more then 30kmiles old so there is no way it died.

Teh motor wated to start , but wouldn't do anything....

Please tel me where these things are...

how can i chekc the fuel pressure, after cranking that long and the pump not working if there isn't any fuel then the purge valve will only spew out gas rather then spray it everywhere....

nah he car stalled and i sat there for 5 minutes trying to start the thing i ran the battery down on ym own... The altenator is only 30k miles old at most, so its not it, plus it warenteed for a liftime by autozone so if its it then i'm good, but that couldn't be it....

Autozone alternator are know for failuring. Was the gage showing it was charging or you didn't notice it??? If you jump the car and it stalls and the battery will not start it, you will know.

There's no wya the altenator would have done that, i have a meter that when the voltage drops too low it starts ringing, the few times the battery died it wouldn't sut up, so uit woulda been ringing if it were the problem....

Do you know what an "ignition" is? How about a "coil"? Is it too complex if you put the 2 together?

Go find out. On a nicer note, it's probably an ignition component, coil, module, whatever. If you don't know how to check those, get a book, do a search, because it's about ******* time you learn SOMETHING.

Use a fuel pressure gauge. $30 or so at most parts stores, and if you're going to work on the car yourself it's a necessary investment.

Schraeder valve is located on the pass side fuel rail near the back, close proximity to the plenum vacuum fitting that feeds the fuel pressure regulator.

Get the point Mickey? ALL that has been covered in detail, but though you have been here for so long you still didn't do the very first thing that you should have... CODES!!!!!!

Then do a search using fuel AND pump and probably Vader or my own sn and you'll find info on the mystical 'G' terminal of the aldl. You may want to look for some info using those same screen names for MAF info as well.

And for the bazillionth ****ing time SEARCH first!!!!

Now that you mention the MAF, didn't he have an issue with that before? I'll bet he never fixed it or fixed it improperly and it bit him in the ***.

The description you gave would have me changing the MAF relays... unless your fuel pressure is junk or non-existant... but you'd know that if you searched!!!!

What is the source of that info?

Post the title and volume of the book, or the name and phone# of the credible Delphi/GM engineer who said it.

(expecting some major McDonalds parking lot monkeyspank...)

i know from actuall experience, plus reading on here once..

when my CAI had been disconnected completely, and just rhe elbow was left on the plenum, the car would fire but onc eit hit the RPM of about 900 to 1.2k it would just quit trying, that was becuase the maf only kicks in at a certain RPM.

Show me the damn post so I can correct that stupidity right now. Knowing you, we'll find a post or thread on WOT tuning with a MAF.

Hey shane did you maybe run out of gas d00d??

Car suddenly dies then wont start and you run battery down trying to restart....

If your not out of gas look at the ignition..

EDIT: " Is this like the 3rd thread in 3 days for you again or is it just 2 in 2 days"...

There ya go shane, did you check the gas gauge? You know, shane, I have never said this to anyone before, but I think you should sell your car and get a honda. One with a warranty.

actually i had just put $20 in the tank an hour before that, and had been at home that entire hour before this, i had plenty of gas.

I called my step-dad and he told me the entire procedure to take the ignition apart to getthe module and the coil tested...

but i'll go ahead and buy some starting fluid and see if that helps also...

lol@the MAF comments

Guys, correct me if I'm wrong but if the ignition module takes a **** the fuel pump won't click on right? Doesn't the fuel pump use the ignition module as a reference?

I haven't had a TPI car in a while, I forget. I know my co-workers LO5 is setup that way.
