timing chain sprockets (non thirdgen, sorry)
Hey guys I am having a little prob here, I am replacing the timing chain and guides
on a 91 toyota p/u 22re engine, (sucks), I
am having diffuculties sliding the chain sprockets on the crank shaft and cam, it is
very very tight, old ones came off farily easy but when I tried to install old ones on just to see they would not go on either,
anyone know of any tricks or hints.
Thanks for any ideas.

Car: yep
Engine: uhuh
Transmission: sure does
I can't offer any tricks, they just slide on.
I usually put a little grease on the inside of them to help them slide on, I have had to tap them on with a large socket before.
Good luck.

Thanks engineboy, it worked out ok, a little
persuasion with a rubber mallet popped it on,
thanks. I'd rather do a timing chain on a
sb chevy than a toyota 4 banger any day,
yes he can see air, godspeed #3
