What can be done to unshroud the valves on the L03
I've heard of angling the top of the clyinder out to the edge of the combustion chamber. Is this possible? What else can be done?

LBC,
You can flycut the cylinder tops a little to allow flow around the outer edges of the valves, but this will enlarge the chamber size (decrease compression). You will also need to check the castings to be certain there is enough material to allow safely milling this area and retaining strength.
Another way of improving flow around the face of the valves is to radius the front side of the valve margin. The effect is similar in result to a three-angle grind on the seats, but helps more in tight chambers to enhance the flow.
The three examples show a stock valve, a three-angle grind, and a radiused front margin. I think you can see the potential of the theory.
