Fan wires keep melting.
As part of my recent engine swap I put in 2 new cooling fans. One is a 10" puller...the other is a larger one off of an 85 Dodge aries, wired up to be a pusher. They work great when it's cold, but after running for awhile they melt the wire from the battery junction to the relay.
Do I just need to replace it with a heavier gauge wire..or is ther something else wrong with this picture?

What guage wire are you using now? I would say that 12 and lower should hold up with no problems, but if you are already using that there might be an unseen short in the system or just crappy/old wire. 85 Dodge aries Ive used those fans before they work better than the factory Gm ones.
