Its the crate without the harmonic damper with it. I was looking at the pics of it and I cant see the timing tab on the timing chain cover....does it come with one? If it doesnt, how do you set the timing?

Not the basic, just the deluxe. Get an 8" balancer or fluidamp. Also make sure you get the right timing tape. They sent me the 6 3/4" tape and so it shows 48 degree's and I'm SURE my engine isn't really running that much . Gotta get that fixed, thanks for the reminder.

You can just purchase a pointer and bolt in on...

I think the reason you don't get the timing pointer is because you get to choose which harmonic balancer you put on it, whether it's the 6 3/4" or the 8". Besides, it's not a huge deal. I just bought a new pointer for my car for $10 made by Mr. Gasket. The moron that rebuilt the engine when he still owned the car put on a timing pointer for an 8" when I have a 6 3/4".
