Help with casting numbers

I know my casting numbers are right underneath the wiring harness in the pic, but I wasn't aware that they were at the time, and so my effort to remove the wiring harness were less than 100%. In the pictures below you will notice a large "3" and a small number involving the digits "48". Most of the evidence I have (the heads, headers, intake, and previous owner's testimony) points to a built 350. My car has a horrible exhaust and is poorly tuned, but it still bothers me when people get behind the wheel or in the passenger seat and insist it's a cammed 305. Based on the pics below can you tell me what it is, or do I have to go back out there and remove the harness? Thanks for your help.

Go back out there, check the pad behind the drivers head, and get the whole number.

Is it just me or does it look like there is an aluminum performer cylinder head in the first pic?I dont know many people running those heads on a 305.

I just noticed..for some reason when I first saw it I thought it was maybe the underside of an intake manifold. If they are performer heads on a 350 you should definetly know it. I would check inder the valve covers for the head #'s and like someone mentioned above look behind the drivers side of the block for the whole number and check on www.mortec.com to cross the numbers. Should tell you what size motor it is. And if they are in fact a stock head that site will tell you info on them to.

They are in fact edelbrock performer heads. It has a super ram intake, and 1 3/4" slp headers. Based on the idle, powercurve, and previous owner testimony it has LT4 hotcam. If this engine is a 305, the previous owner was a frickin' moron. I don't think I'll bother with the head numbers, I'll just try to get that dam wiring harness out of the way and make sure.
