MSD 6AL - Where to get cheapest? & BTM Questions
I need an MSD 6AL quick because I need something to stop detonation w/ my paxton and the Vortech MSD BTM I picked up only works w/ MSD 6, 7, 8 series. I am gettting really anxious to drive with it (so far only run in my garage ), and was wondering if anyone knew the cheapest place to get one. So far jegs is the cheapest I can find @ $172.95.
Also, Does anyone know which wires on the dial that you can choose the amount of timing go to on the BTM unit.. there are only two left, but I don't know which goes where. The instruction sheet I have only lists how to attatch the other 4 wires.
Thanks for any help.

I don't think you will find one any cheeper than JEG'S. I work at O'Reilly auto parts and I've been checking around and I finally ordered mine out of JEG'S as well.
On the other hand do you have to have a 6AL? You can get a 6A for about 30.00 to 40.00 $$$ cheeper. The only differance is the 6AL has a rev. limiter. I don't know if this matters to you but I went with a 6A. I want my motor to shut down when I take my foot out of it.

Getting the rev limiter is really important to me. I am running N20 and a blower.. so running at too high rpm's could be catastrophic. To high rpm and the paxton blows up, to high rpm w/ n20 and the engine blows up. I think I might go with carpartsonsale.com. It is $180.00 there, but w/ %10 off it is ~$162, plus the electric f.p. guage I want is only $70+10% off there and is usually $80.

I grabbed my 6AL box out of Summit Racing. The extra cost is justified for the 6AL- besides the rev limiter it also comes with the anti-vibration mounts... which are $16/set separately.
