Hose clamps...

Anybody know of hose clamps that don't cut through the hose. It looks ugly and makes it annoying to remove them.

Thanks,
Jason

They make a band style clamp with a tiny screw that pulls the band tight. It is not perferated like the standard clamps and will not cause your hose to "seep" through the slots over time.

Fuel injection clamps... the kind that use a screw and a nut. They work well, dont eat up the hose, and they look good too.

They have worm gear clamps that have the metal band that goes completely around the hose (used with silicone hose), but they typically aren't available at your local auto parts store. The ones I prefer are the T-bolt style clamps, which also utilize a 3/4" wide band, and you can tighten them up much more without fear of stripping (to me these are the hose clamp of choice, at least for rad. hose sizes). Try a local hydraulic hose supply place for these.

So I suppose I should upgrade to silicone hoses as well?

The only problem with silicone hose is that it cuts much easier than the rubber ones. I actually prefer the Goodyear Super Hi-miler hose for cooling system duty.

Thanks!

Do you use their belts too, or someone else's.

Currently using Dayco Top Cog for alternator (V-belt) and Gates for the supercharger (gilmer/toothed). Goodyear's Gatorback serpentine belt I've used in the past on one of my old trucks and had very good results with it.
