A convertible requires a roll bar when it's quicker than 13.99 in the 1/4 mile. Everyone else doesn't need one until 11.99

Do you use the roll bar along with subframe connectors or its your choice of either? If its your choice which one is better?

You should have both. The SFC join the front and rear subframes together making the chassis stiffer. The roll bar is welded to plates that are welded to the floor. The roll bar will keep the body frome flexing.

If all you can afford is one item then get the SFC. If your ET doesn't require you to have a roll bar then it's just added weight. It will help some but not as much as you would expect. My roll bar is 70 pounds.
