Heads, what's the difference?

I was considering buying some SBC heads to put on my TBI 305. They were regular heads with 1.94/1.5 valves (or thereabout) and 58cc chambers. I figured they would be a great upgrade. So I e-mailed the guy selling them and asked him if he knew what kind of improvement they might offer over my stock 305 heads, and he said they would not work because they are not for fuel injection.
So I'm thinking, If they fit the block and I'm using a Performer TBI (or TBI adapted Performer) intake, what's the difference? What makes the FI heads different?

I thought so.
Since he's the guy that did the machine work on them, though, I think I'll pass on 'em.

I'm jumping this back up because I'm thinking I'll go ahead and get the heads.

If anybody can think of a reason why these heads and I should not be joined in performance, speak now, or forever hold your peace.

Somebody?

Drill the holes for the stock intake, or do you mean I would have to drill even for an aftermarket intake? I'm planning on using a Performer, EGR.
