Shhhh. He's old, his alzheimer's is kicking in.

Click this little dude <A HREF="https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/search.php?s="><IMG SRC="https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/images/smilies/search.gif" BORDER="0"></A> and put in column or steering column and Vader as the author. He has had a few good threads now and again.

Oh yea, no?

Look up a guy named "Vader." Rumor has it he has a diagram posted somewhere.

Red Devil, thanks for your help, though I could not find what I was looking for. I was at the track yesterday for some N/A passes and the throttle stuck ( I have since solved that problem) when I went to shut the car down by turning the key to the off position the steering wheel locked at 140+ not a good feature !
Just want to eliminate the lock permently, just incase anything else should happen. I thought the reply was very funny "Yes".
Bullies? I was thinking more like Smart @$$. LOL

Who, me? Would I imply something so drastic and obviously absurd as that?....YEP!!!

But.....back to the problem at hand, I have the information that he is looking for from the 92 camaro service manual in PDF forrmat if he needs it. I can e-mail it to him if he would like.

That's how I flipped my last car upside down in a creek in a 10-foot deep ditch and totalled it. Wasn't spraying though, brakes went out (long story) and some other stuff, and turned car off to find my steering locked.. Oops! Forgot there was a creek just down the road maybe 50 feet where the road curves ever so slightly. Yeah, that was fun..

all the lock is is a little plate with slots and a rod. remove or grind away the parts that mesh together and you'll have it.
sorry i misread your question, i thought you ask if anyone know how to do it, not how to do it

With the drawings from Trickster the job went flawless.
I actually removed the entire pin. Thanks again ~ Jason
