Crankshaft Wobble?
I recently redid my timing and I noticed that while in idle, the balancer seems to wobble a little bit. The car runs great, doesn't leak any oil, and has only 70k. Anybody else have this problem? Should I worry about it? Thanks for your input,
Adam

The balancer wobbles? As in one "side" is out (away from the block), moreso than the other? Much like the wobble of the tire caused by a bent rim? That sort of wobble? If it looks like that, I'm going to suggest taking off the balancer and inspecting it. I'm betting your interta ring has slipped and, in turn, your outer ring has shifted. Time for a new balancer.
If, when looking at it, the whole assembly wobbles (middle area, the works), try snugging up the balancer bolt. However, i doubt this is the case considering how much clearance (or lack there of) there is between the balancer and the crank snout.

i had this problem but i believe that the damper i had on it was no good the elastometer ring (rubber ring) was cracked and to top it off the outter ring was spinning on the hub and not absorbing vibrations like its supposed to. 136K miles on engine.

It doesn't look like a bent rim, it looks almost like its loose but yet its not. Its tight and all and I doubt any rings or rubber o-rings are broken since it was driven by an 80 year old for 30k then by me for 40k. I guess its worth a shot by pulling it off and checking.

No, I don't think it has even been off. I got the car with 30k grandpa miles on it and I haven't done anything but regular maintenance.
