umm... help, twisted fuel line
in an attempt to change the fuel filter, I found myself twisting the fuel line to hell and back about 8 times on my qjet. what now? I haven't tried to start it...

haha yeah, i did get the filter changed now looked like its the original one.
i did my best to crimp the broken line but its leaking a lil gas.
I'm looking at the fuel lines and fittings in summit but this is an unfamiliar field, what should i get to replace it?
thanks,
brandon

Which one is it. The one going to the engine compartment, or the one going to the fuel tank? About two years ago when i replaced my fuel pump i managed to rip the end off the one going to the engine compartment along with the fuel filter... that was fun. I went around to a few junkyards because i assumed that would be the cheapest route. They wanted atleast $100. So i decided to try the dealer thinking it may be the same price, and for the same price i might as well buy new. Turned out it was only $20, parts guy was surprised at the price too. I beleive there is a post from a while ago listing all the fuel line part numbers.

The summit stuff should work. Dealer usually gets parts in two days also. If your in a bind and need your car soon you can probably go to a local speed shop and get braided fuel lines also.

If you go to the dealer they'll give you a long straight piece of tubing and tell you to go bend it yourself. Your best bet for something pre-bent would be to try a wrecker, or maybe someplace like Classic Tubing.

I'm gonna give a local junk yard a call, they had an lg4 there last time i was snooping around.
in case i need to go to autozone, are the fittings the same size at both the fuel pump and the fuel filter?
hey guys thanks again for your help,
brandon welbaum

damn, the junkyard lg4 didn't have its qjet and the line was snipped, no good there. I'll just go to autozone today or tomorrow and pick up some braided fuel lines.

All fuel lines that i've bought from the dealer were prebent. That includes the main feed line from the filter to the engine bay and the feed and return lines from the flexible lines to the fuel rail.
