question about a rebuild
hey, i am going to get a 3.4 L to replace my 2.8 L .... i know, i know .... the v8 is by far better ... but i'm looking for an upgrade w/o the complexity of the v8 swap.
anyway, on to the question ... i was wondering how much ( in general ) it would cost to rebuild a v6 engine...and what all i should do in the rebuild ... is it cheaper to get one crate, or rebuild personaly?

i think ull do just as much work getting that engine in there as u would do to do a v8 swap if i were u id just do a v8 swap man.... u will kick ur self in the *** when u are all done and said with it if u stay with a 6er and do the same amount of work getting it in there that u would have to do to get an 8 in there. not trying to tell u what to do man im just trying to save you trouble in the end

it's hard to guess at the cost of a rebuild since you wouldn't know what all would need replaced untill you got it apart and inspected. if it were me i'd rebuild it myself.

Whether crate or rebuild depends upon how much you spend to get the engine in the first place, and how much needs to be put into it to rebuild it. With the crate, you know how much you're going to spend.
Most likely the least expensive route would be a used engine that doesn't require rebuild. If you can find such a thing that you can trust not to require rebuilding, that is.
