I just wieght mine at the scale to day and got 3340 lb. the only things I've taken off have been the A/C and A.I.R. system. My sicker says 4200 lb. Almost a 1000 lb diff.. Just want to see some other peoples wights.

Unless youve got a convertible then you read your sticker wrong. I dont know how much they weigh exactly but I would say 3200 to 3400 is an educated guess

The sticker is the GVW. Passengers and a full load. Put 4 passengers at 200 pounds each and there's an extra 800 pounds right there. Not that a 200 pound person would like to sit in the back.

I'm glad you added the driver weight. Hard to race without one.
I still need to re-weigh the race car now that the big block is in but last year with a small block the car weight was 3045 going down the track.

Damn, you guys have light cars. Mine was 3400 lbs (on a manual scale) without driver. Thats with aluminum heads, T5 trans, subframe connectors, etc.
Your sticker that says 4200 lbs, that is the max weight the car can carry.

Mine is 3400 bone stock ('89 Iroc 305, 5-spd, no ttops) I put 4th gen manual seats in my car, which reduced the weight a lot! Im also going to put a fiberglass hood on and remove the a/c. So, Im anxious to see what it weighs after the "diet."

Car: 1986 Firebird
Engine: 2.8 V6
Transmission: 700R4
I weighed my car last time I was at Englishtown Raceway Park; here's the deal:
1986 Firebird (no ground fx kit)
2.8 V6 engine
removed a/c compressor/condensor/accumulator
steel wheels
1/4 tank of gas
Myself in the driver's seat
Weight: 3370 pounds
[edit] Wow, looks like my car's a bit on the chubby side! Maybe this extra stuff will help figure out the weight diff?
front tires: P225/60r15
rear tires: P275/60r15
I weigh 135...
At the time I weighed the car, I had finished my axle swap, so it had rear disc brakes on it instead of drums.

Mine is 3100 lbs. Thats with no gas and no driver. Its an 85 v-6 firebird. It now has a 327 V-8 with aluminum heads and intake, fiberglass hood and all the old emmission and computer and harnesses taken out. Plus no spare tie or jack. But added for weight is a bulletproof bellhousing a richmond 6 speed (heavier than the t-5)subframe connectors and beefed up suspension. Oh yeah it never had AC and it has aluminum wheels and a new 9 bolt disc brake rear end (aluminum ausi calipers 12 inch rotors)and its a hard top.

But my 3045 was with me (about 160), cast iron heads, custom made SFC (heavy steel) and a 70 pound roll bar. My goal is to get the car down to 2800 with me in it, race ready. The only way I can shave off the extra 300 pounds is to spend a lot of money. I could remove a lot more weight with fiberglass doors and fenders, complete Lexan windows, and maybe next year the tubular front crossmember and control arms.

I think last time it was wieghed to balance the wieght jacks it was around 3200 with driver and not sure how much gas(I could be wrong). Since then i have taken out the rear seats, all the none functual stock seat belts, air pump and it never had a spare and jack in it. Also a lot of the aftermarket components like the spindles, springs, and seats are a lot lighter. I really want to find some scales to wieght the car again. I was hoping for low 3000s with the radio system and muffler out becuase I do not think their is much more I could do minus gutting the light plastic interior or the rear hatch if I was pyscho.

these guys are racers at the track. Dont be so sure their cars are heavier, after all they should know and as of now its 15:1 in their favor.
BTW, thanks ODB....I think Ill start a bit of a diet for my car and shoot for 3300 W/O driver. Id say thats an attainable wieght for a non-power anything car.

Car: 1992 Camaro Z28
Engine: 406
Transmission: T56
Axle/Gears: 4.10 GM 7.5 10-bolt
On a CAT scale, driver in (200 lbs), half tank of gas, no spare, and options in signature. 3550 lbs. I was suprised. I thought it weighed more. My friends '89 notchback Mustang weighed 3360 with him (160 lbs) and a quarter tank.

At Rt 66 scales:
3750 with me in it and a little less than half a tank. Headers were about the only weight difference taken from stock. Ran a 16.3 with no O2 sensor. Stereo equipment added some extra weight. Oh yeah, I had to poop that day too. Thats an extra 5 pounds!

3.73 Richmond gears and SLP Zexel Torsen Posi (waiting for install)

At Bandimere scales, 3450 w/driver, trunk emptied (spare, jack, etc. made about 50lb difference), 1/2 tank gas. That's typical, I weigh every day I race (if the scales are working).
No ground effects, spoiler, etc. AC compressor & hoses removed (but not evap or cond).
Ground effects stuff is heavy. If you do 1/4 miles, every 100 lbs costs you about a tenth, typically.

Best 15.1 @ 5800' Bandimere. Daily driver while Camaro was being put together.

Everybody needs to use the same accurate scale. I weighed mine, drove 30 miles to another scale and it gained 213 pounds. Both 'claimed' to have calibrated scales.

I have the following two cars:
1992 B4C with aftermarket control arms and panhard, and small 4 point bolt-in highway patrol roll bar, slp headers, aluminum heads, aluminum water pump, no cats or smog equipment, and a 275# driver.
This is "The JYD" it is a 1985 "ZERO OPTION" 2.8 T5 sport coupe that had an iron headed 355 T56 swapped into it along with true dual exhaust, and a heavy moser 9"
which can be seen HERE
was weighed as 2840 one scale and 2864 on the other (minus driver) I drove from one grain/feed scale to a "CAT" truck stop scale) with the following:
the V6 was switched to a iron headed V8 SBC
the light T-5 was switched for a heavier T-56
the light 7.5" rear swapped for a 9" moser
heavy steel subframe connectors
nitrous bottles, headers, second fuel pump, ignition system, bigger radiator, heavier exhaust, and larger battery were among the many weight adders in this car as well.
I am currently looking to find out what other scaled zero option sport coupes weighed at the scale.

Dang, Tom, what prompted you to dredge this old thing up?
The scale photo looks familiar, though.

a discussion about how light the JYD is and me trying to find out why. I made the following post:

If you go to the BFE shootout you might get to see the JYD in person.

I'd rate the chances of me being able to justify that somewhere between slim to none. I've already been asked to suspend all local activity, even.
Love to see it, though. Looks like it ran very strong at Bandimere.
