fresh motor, now to tune it!
okay, i just put a new cam, lifters, rings, bears, new oil pump, ported heads, ported edelbrock performer intake. first time startin it up, it runs solid no noise, checked the oil filter, no grindings. i think ive got a good motor here! motors ran for 30 minutes.
now its on to tuning!
im not sure where to start on tuning, my timing is at about 10 degrees advance.
my manifold vacum is too damn low! the guage was bouncing around from 5-8 (pounds of vacumm or osmething?) now, my old motor had 14, and that was barely enough to run brakes properly. my cam is only a 110 degree . 440 lift , quite mild, so, iam not sure why i dont have vacum anymore!, everything is plugged, smog etc.
where shoudl i start tuning?
adjust timing too as much advance without knock?
then adjust carbuetor for a 13:1 a/f ratio?
then worry about my vacum problem!
the motor is in good shape, now i need to knwo how to tune it for performance!
any help woudl be greatly appreciated.
