Timing w/LPE 74216 in 305 TPI
Need some advice or recommendations for the timing on my engine. I have just changed the cam and the factory heads got some work done with 1.94"/ 1.50" Manley Race-Flo valves, competition valve job, screw-in studs, etc...
The engine runs good and idles at 550 RPM. The cam specs are:
LPE 74216 - .213/.219 duration @ .050" lift - .492"/.502" gross lift w/1.6 RR - 112 deg. LCA
I have set the base timing to 10 deg. well above factory of 6 deg. that the Hypertech Thermomaster is calling for. I am also running about 46 psi on the AFPR and my F/A Ratio meter shows a normal mixture.
So what would be a good setting for the timing without getting into detonation with this setup?
PS. More mods listed in my sig page.
