Piston to valve clearance
I have a 84 Z-28 with a 350 in it, it has the Sliv-O-Lite Hypereutectic pistons with 4 valve reliefs in them a pretty much standard small block replacement piston. It has the Vortec L31 heads on it,I'am wanting to put a 268H extreme energy cam in it. The numbers on it are 224/230 at 50 with a 477/480 lift, the question is should I have any valve to piston clearance problem? It also has stock head gaskets and 1.5 rockers. I don't want to have to pull the heads if I don't have to, it will save me money as well as time! The heads were just put on the car 3 months ago. I would really apprecate some imput. Thanks NORT

No problem.
The retainers will hit the valve guides at about .500" of lift. You are therefore well protected against ever having one valves hit pistons.
