Check the battery connections...make sure they are tight and there is no corrosion on them. Then check your battery and make sure it has a full charge. Of course, this could be a few different problems, but that would be a good place to start.

The first few things that must be checked are:
fuel= make sure when cranking the car u have the proper fuel pressure
spark=pull a spark plug, ground it & crank the car. U should see a spark
If these items are working u might have computer codes that u need to check out!

How's the timing? If the distrib hold-down bolt wasn't tightened enough when the head gaskets were done, it's possible that the timing kept slipping & slipping, and now, a few weeks later, it's too far out to get the car started. That happened to me. My fuel pump died; after I replaced it, I couldn't get the car to run. After trying a bunch of things, I checked the plugs- and found one busted into pieces- detonation! So I checked the timing. The mech that last worked on my car apparently never tightented the hold-down bolt enough! The timing was way off the scale. I set it near spec to get the car running, and then set it exactly to spec.

Funny though how the timing was fine for the car to run until the fuel pump died, and wouldn't start back up with bad timing & a new fuel pump. The car sat about a week.

Check the computer codes....see what you're getting!! You should be getting SOMETHING if it's not running!

ALSO....you may be getting fuel, but not ENOUGH fuel!! Do a pressure check!! When my fuel pump went out I popped the line off the filter and turned the key over and it was still pumping fuel...just not enough! Also, if the fuel pressure regulator went out then your engine is getting TOO MUCH fuel and flooding itself which I think would make it not want to start!!
