Bleeding Power Steering
I've completed a cam swap, and now am trying to bleed the PS system. It makes a god aweful noise, and it's not the belt. It's pretty bad though.
I've been bleeding it like the manual says, but it is taking longer than I got the impression that it should.
Did I miss something.

Fill it. Turn the wheels all the way one way. Wait a few minutes for the foam to settle back down to fluid. Fill it again. Turn the wheels the other way. Repeat as necessary. It works better if you use actual power steering fluid rather than ATF, although ATF does wowk and isn't harmful. PS fluid just works better.

Should it be making such a god awful noise as if the belt were super loose? The belt isn't super loose, in fact it's tight. I checked that first.

If the noise is that sort of whining-groaning-grinding sound, it will go away when you get it full of fluid and no air. If it's a screeching sound of the belt slipping, then you don't have the belt tight enough or the brackets aren't right or hardware is missing, which is allowing the pump to move when the tension in the belt increases from loading by the pump doing more work.

to make it go faster some times it helps to jake the frount of the car in the air and with the eng. off tun the wheels from stop to stop about 15 times then fill it the rest of the way repet with it running thet way there is not so much air going through every thing reducing the amount of foaming.
