I Want Torque!!!
I am looking for an engine that has lots of low end grunt and lots mid range power, I don't plan on going above 5500 rpm. I would like to use Vortec heads because of price and from what i have been told them producing good torque but my question is with they work with a TPI setup and will the ZZ4 cam work with it too? What do you think of this setup. Anyone want to run it on a desktop dyno?

1) 3" Cat-back, Flowmaster
2) Hooker 1 5/8 headers
3) GM Vortec Heads
4) ZZ4 Cam or one like it
5) enought work to the TPI system to get it to work right. I don't know exactly what I will have to do, but if i have to port it then so be it. I will also install all the little things like K&N, an airfoil, wires plugs ect.
Thanks

Saw an article on those Vortec heads recently. It said they come with crappy springs and press in studs. You'd definitely has to address those two areas using the ZZ4.

Ok, thanks for the informatin on the vortecs and I think I will change my mind on them unless some people have so damn good success stories. Also, can anyone give me BOLT ON mods for the TPI system. Some has to have around 400 ft/lbs with the TPI. I really don't want to go above 415 because the T-56 is rated at 450 ft/lbs. Also I don't want to hear about NOS or a turbo or super charger. I don't like NOS and the turbo or super is out of my price range. What do you think is better, Sportsman II or GM Fast Burn.
