Difference between a Camaro and a Firebird?
I have this buddy....to put it simply hes a dumbass and he keeps telling me that my 92 camaro is nothing like a 92 firebird. He tells me that Firebird is too high end to be considered like Camaro. I told him they are practicly the same car with a different body and a few other changes like wheels and stuff. I know I am right. But could you guys tell him just so he gets the point.
By the way he drives a wannabe rice rocket !

Just the styling differences. Mechanical parts are all interchangable and usually the same on both cars. Even differences from SS/RS/Z28/IROC etc are usually just options and basic styling.

There is a difference with the TPI intake in those engines, and aerodynamics also.

TPI difference?! did we figure out if they had the same motor? I'm almost positive that the 91-92 TPI was the same on both the birds and the maros (speed density). Same with the v6, they're the same car. One thing I did notice was how the rear quarter panel molds into the roof, on the birds there is a more noticable "shelf" at door sill hieght, not sure if that was all birds or if I was comparing older style to new...?!?! Tell your "I_am_a_really_cool_guy" that they're both f-body's and there is no mechanical advantages. Tell him to find any kind of part that is for a bird ONLY, then show him that the same company makes it for the camaro. That should wize him up enough. If not I bet he's a punk that'll soon sell the car for a "pocket rocket."

They are 95% the same car. The external difference is in the fender, rear quarter panels, hood, nose fascia, and rear fascia. the intake ducting on the MPFI and TPI Camaros and Firebirds are different as well. The interiors are different too. The suspensions are tuned slightly differently Other than that... same exact car in every way.

Wasn't there a difference in the air intake of the H.O. engines in like 84 because of the 2 different hoods on them also?

Actually, when GM stopped putting the dual-snorkel intake in the Camaros (for MPFI/TPI), they used the same intake ducting as the Firebirds.
