Improper ECM?
Bit the bullet and took the IROC to a dealership to try and troubleshoot the problems w/the new motor. They told me I either have the wrong ECM or mine was malfunctioning - but they said they had no way of telling which one I originally had without the original ECM itself. Apparently, 88 TPI's came with either a 88999194 ECM or an 88999128 ECM . I have the 194 . Does anyone know what the differences are and how to know which one I should have?
Apparently the ECM is sending 1volt continuously to the O2 sensor (which I'm told is bad), and even when the O2 is unplugged it thinks it's rich. Also, the car won't rev over 3500-4000 rpms

Ok, I've done some reading and I see that there's a '165' ECM, could 8899128 be a Canadian number? And can any one help me with the o2 voltage question?

In the U.S., your car would have had the 1227165 ECM. I would think that Canadien TPIs would use the same hardware with possibly a different PROM and MemCal, but I usually get into trouble when I presume.
I'm not sure what's the skinny in Winne...

From a fellow Canadian here, you should have the 1227165 ECM. The part #'s given to you were both GM remanufactured ECMs. Both items appear to be for an 88 Camaro tpi, engine code"F". I checked it out at AC Delco online. As for your O2 sensor, if it was sending back 1 volt continious at all times I think you will throw a code. Too bad you are in Winnipeg, I could have done some datalogging to see if your O2 outputs were correct.

Thanks a lot guys - checking out the AC Delco catalog is really going above and beyond - really appreciate it Razor!
A 5 hour drive is starting to not sound too bad - no one here can diagnose the problem...why do people pay huge bucks at dealerships??
