Got a question for any of you guys who put mechanical gauges in your cars.I have a 3 pod gauge set from sunpro I want to install them under the two middle vents on my camaro.I took off the the dashboard today to start doing the the job and i couldnt find a place to run the lines for it cause all the heater vents are in the way.Does anyone have any suggestions or have done it before.I'd buy electrical gauges but i cant afford them anytime soon.Any help would be great.

I put them under the dash to the left of the console.So they are right above my right leg.Best place I could find.I put my tach under the center vents in the middle of the IP.

Thanks,But i Really want to put them under the 2 center vents.Ive seen a couple guys do it here but i dont know if they used electrical gauges.Its just so cluttered behind the dash where i want to put them.Heres a question how hard is it to remove the heating ducts?

Here is a shot of mine, all are mechanical. Your instrument cluster is differently shaped, being an 87. I ran the oil and temp lines through the gap between the cluster and the back section of dash, and then out through the firewall.

So you ran the lines behind the cluster then to the fire wall?Did you use plastic or metal line for oil pressure?also where did you connect the water temp line i was gonna connect it to the thermostat housing but i dont know if ill have enough line to do it if i route it like that.any help would be great and thank you.

Yes, behind, and underneath, the cluster then through the fire wall. Metal line for the oil pressure, plastic is a waste and not legal for many sanctioning bodies...

if you are using an Autometer gauge for water temp, you should have plenty of line to connect it at the water outlet...here's a shot of my engine, and you can see the routing of the line, under the linkage and water neck to hole. my line was actually a little too long, which is why I used the passenger side hole instead of the driver side, to take up some extra line...hope this helps...

Thanks for the help im gonna give it a try and see what happens.Im not using autometer gauges though im using sunpro.
They should be pretty close there both mechanical.How long was your water temp line?Mine about 6 feet long.

I just baught a sunpro style line triple gauge kit ( oil,temp,and volt) they are electronic . Im just wondering if anyone knows how to wire them up and if you can give me some pointers on where to tap into power for each . I have an 84 chevy camaro berlinetta if that helps. anyone who can help please do. thanks
