!Help, lost all my oil !
It's one thing after another, just got towed home, lost all my oil while driving home. Found the problem but not sure how to fix it. The oil is spurting like a geyser out of the oil pressure sending unit. I went to see how loose the thing was after watching it shoot oil straight up at the hood, wiggled it and the whole thing broke off at the base. I mean it broke off where it goes into the block. Now,provided I can get the part broken off out of the base, does that tube come with the sending unit and if not, any ideas where to get it?. For now I am scr**wed but at least I know I have oil pressure.

If you're talking about the brass tube thing that sticks straight up out of the block, then no, it does not come with the sender.
It's 1/8" pipe. You can go to the hardware store and buy a 1/8" pipe x 3" nipple and a 1/8" pipe 90° double-female elbow, and pretty much duplicate the setup that's there.

quick response, thanks alot, banging my head on the wall. Yes, it is the tube that comes out of the block and the does a 90 degree angle and then the unit screws into that. Is that the original setup?

Yes. It should be one piece with the 90 and all. You can fabricate it easily enough though from common stuff. In fact, your sender may not even be bad.

why doesn't the sending unit just screw into the block? is it a clearance issue?

still need help, the dang tube is broken off in the block. I tried using a screw driver to stick inside the tube and turn it (tube is hollow) but it won't budge. How can I get the damn thing out.

Looks sort of like a tapered left-hand thread screw with very coarse threads. You put it in , it screws itself in and grips the broken-off part and backs it out. If it was a bolt you'd drill a hole in it first, but since it's a pipe, it should be about a 30 second job. Sears has them, parts stores usually do, hardware stores might.
