What angle plugs for AFR heads?

I'm ordering my AFR heads tomorrow and I want to make sure I'm getting the right plug angle. I will be running SLP 1 5/8 headers on my engine. I was planning on getting the L98 angle plug heads. Does this sound right for an 89 IROC-Z?

it's entirely your choice. Whatever you like best.

I run those same headers and I like the angle plug heads.

I'd recommend the angle plugs if at all possible, as they put the spark closer to where it needs to be.

Look at a pic of the headers and see if the angled design will fit. Usually it makes the fit of the headers to the plugs more friendly, because the plug angles away from the exhaust port on the outside of the motor. You should check with the specific headers you're going to use though. Get a pic or drawing from SLP, or scope out a car that has them.

I think 1-5/8" headers would be a mismatch with the rest of your combo. I think you will give back most of what you are buying when you spring for those heads, by using the small primaries.

I already have the headers on my 305 so I was going to use them. If I feel they are choking me up, then I'll start searching for 1 3/4. I guess I'll go with the angle heads then.

I have a set of straight plug AFR 190s, 58cc, brand new still in the box I would like to sell. I work in Piscataway (centennial ave) right near boundbrook. If you would like to see these heads let me know.

I got straight plugs because all aftermarket 3rd gen headers will clear straight plugs. Lingenfelter claims there is no benefit to angle plugs, I'm sure there are others, just clearance headaches. Yes, there are many members running angle head plugs on this board too.

I am selling the heads because I am going to sell my Camaro.
