Unknown mod, please help...
Hey all, I tried posting the pix here, but it didnt let me post a lot of pix, and hten deleted my post with out letting me edit it, but theres an identical post I made here

I'm trying to figure out what in the world that junk inside my engine bay is. I just bought the car, so I have no idea...

Looks like he decided to install a flux capacitor.
No, it looks like some sort of vacuum device, maybe somthing to capture the oil form the PCV or somehting. Really looks ghetto, though. Looks like the PCV line ties into it. Id put my vote in for rip it out and put the car back to the way it was stock.

Yeh, i have the same vote, but unfortunately, my area of qualification is more computer based, then yanking unknow mods out of a new bought ccar, much rather a shop to do this...but couple of shops I visited were bug eyed at me, they have no idea WTF that is....

Definatly looks like some wierd sort of contraption to settle the oil out from the PCV system. I know old motors can puke some oil back into the intake but thats a bit excesive to control it.

Looks like RB is right. Didnt see the terminal block that privides vacuum to the accesories behind it.

I think it could be somehting to do with water...
But what would a water system do? Is it safe to inject water anywhere in the engine?

Helps cool the intake charge and curb knock to the best of my knowledge, but why they would use it on the lowely LO3 is beyond me.

Umm, all I'm interested about is how it's affecting my emmisions, and what would happen if I rip it out? And how?
And why do I need it...

Wont effect anything and you dont really need it. Just take it to a shop and have them unmodify it.
