Need to get the hydrocarbons down for emissions
I need to be at .80, i'm at .91 so its not a huge margin i'm failing by.
The timing is advanced 4 degrees, stock is 0 degrees, someone mentioned this might actually help with the emmissions? This is my biggest concern, i'm thinking that just screwing with timing might help me pass emissions, i'm just not sure which way to go with it.
I will probably do the 02 sensor as well.
The sparkplugs are being changed tommorrow, they're covered in white crap probably from being overheated.
I went though already and fixed a couple very tiny vacuume leaks, they were so small I don't think they would effect anything.
I really don't want to do wires, cap and rotor, but ill take the cap off and see how it looks, if everything is covered in carbon or whatever the crap that builds up in there is, I will replace it.
Is there anything else I should do to get me through?
Everything else I passed by a large margin.

I was off by about the same, and I went to the local Advance Auto, and picked up a bottle of Guarenteed to Pass Emission, or something like that. I passed when I went back. You could also try retarding the timing some.

Liquid gold!
I totally agree with Chris. Go to any major auto parts store and for about $7, get the CRC guaranteed to pass emissions formula. Pour it in your tank and drive it around for a few days. When you retest, you will pass. I don't even bother testing anything without it anymore. For the extra & bucks, everything allways passes first time, and I'm in California.
