EVAP canister Question, Fuel tank vent...

When I pulled My Evap canister, I was sort of In a Hurry and failed to notice the Hard steel line that Runs from it to the Tank ( I think )

I was later at a friends house and Noticed that Fuel was Coming Slowly out of this line, So I stuck a Vaccum Cap On it. ( and forgot about it )

Now here I am, Month or so Later, and Smelling gas Every time I Turn On My Heater.

Do You think that this could Be it ? Even If Not, what should I do with this tank vent line ? plug it, breather it, what ?

Here are some pics detailign what Im talking about.

Yea I'd say thats it.
Why did you pull the evap can? Unless you dont have a spot to put it, or you stole the line for something else (doesnt look that way) theres no reason to disconnect it.

Well, since the cannister stuff is ripped out and you are DETERMINED to clean up your engine bay, you need to do something about those open vapor hoses.

First get a VENTED gas cap. Then, after you have installed your old-fashioned vented gas cap, then you can remove and plug the end of the vent pipe to the gas tank. All of the other hoses under the hood are for purging and ported vacuum control of the cannister.
