Vacuum Hose Repair (help quick)...

I was just taking off my throttle body (TPI unit) and, while I was trying to pull off the little L-shaped vacuum hose that goes to the bottom of it, the plastic tubing broke off at the L-shaped rubber boot.

What is the best way to fix this? It almost looks like I should be able to pull the broken piece of vacuum hose out of the rubber boot and just push the fresh end of the line back in, but I don't want to screw this up any more than I already have.

Any help will be appreciated!

What you stated will work fine, if its long enough. If not, you can get replacement vacuum tubing (I think you're talking about the hard-plastic tubing right?) at Advanced Auto Parts, probly be couple bucks for a 3-4ft section, or something. It's not expensive. Wouldnt hurt to do all your vacuum hoses if their old and if that one broke so easily.

try to pull it out of the boot... then put some silicone on the hose and slip it back on the boot. dont get the silicone inside as it will clog the hose.

if its all too old and brittle, you can pick some up at any good auto parts store and replace the whole line

Thanks for the replies.

I ended up being able to pull the broken piece out of the boot and just reinserting the end of the hose back in. Seems obvious enough that I shouldn't have had to ask, but I just wanted to make sure (don't know why, but I thought the hard hoses were molded into the rubber boots).
