Hatch Release...
I recently purchused a hatch release on ebay due to the pull down motor that i currently have being fried out..
here is a pic of it.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting
I'm assuming I misjudged by the picture and thought that i would be able to solve my problem with this.. to the best of my understanding its not a hatch pull down motor but a hatch release where you would just manually close the hatch and be able to pop it open through use of a toggle switch set up inside... am i correct in this assumption? If you look at the picture it clearly shows the latching mechanism, however i was mearly sent the motor.. is there anyway to make this work with my broken pull down assembly or do i need to find the correct latch now?

thats a hatch release... yea, it makes it so you can open with the touch of a button instead of using the key

When you pull the hatch down on your car, the motor is activated to slowly bring the hatch down and lock it in place. When you hit the latch release on the console, the latch opens and tension from the gas struts will cause the hatch to pop up and rise to the fully (depending on condition of struts) open position.

yeah i understand its not a pull down motor... i was assuming it was from an older model before they came with them.. in the picture there it shows the actual latch with it so i was going to replace my pull down motor/latch assembly with that one... unfortnently for some reason he just sent me the motor and not the latch that was with it...
