Intake Manifolds: Victor Jr. vs. Weiand Stealth
I’ll be doing a head swap soon and am contemplating swapping intake manifolds at the same time. I’ll be ditching my GM ‘997 castings in favor of some AFR 195cc Street heads. This should raise the torque curve considerably (‘997 castings have 160cc intake ports – great for low-midrange torque, not so great for top-end horsepower). To compliment the new heads, I would really like to swap to a Victor Jr. intake. Problem: From what I’ve read, this intake will not clear my stock hood. I currently have a Weiand Stealth that barely allows for hood clearance, using a 2” drop base w\ 3” filter element (14” DIA). I am a big fan of “sleepers” and am not keen on the idea of a cowl induction hood on my Firebird.
I was wondering if anyone here has swapped from a Stealth to a Victor Jr. (or vice-versa), and if so, what kind of performance gains/losses did you experience? If the benefits of a Victor Jr. are minimal, I would prefer to port-match my Stealth to the new heads and call it a day. I have a feeling, however, that the Stealth can’t compete with the tried ‘n true Victor Jr.
Some other notes about my engine:
408 SBC, 9.8:1 CR, CC Magnum 286H (236/236 @ .050”, .490/.490 lift, 110* sep), Holley 750 DP.
The car is driven on the street, but primarily my weekend warrior.
Opinions please.

The Victor Jr. is a good intake, but it 's rpm range is from 3000 to 7000 rpm. If that is what you are looking for then the Victor Jr. is your manifold.

Actually, I think you'll be fine with the Stealth but a Victor would never hurt ya.

Just make sure you get what you pay for or ordered. Holley list every intake on their site as a stealth. I double check the Holley site to make sure the "Weiand Stealth " I bid on was a stealth. And of course the website says it was. But guess what.
I got an action+ OEM intake. The part numbers match what Holley says is a "Weiand Stealth " but it wasn't. On the box it had all the right part numbers and listings.
I emailed and called Holley 100 times and they still have no changed it.
