when car is off, i can still blow air through vents!

ok, the thing that is weird is that i can take the key out off the igntion, the car is completly off, and i can turn on the heater by going to vent, and it blows air!

I drained my battery once because i thought it would stop, but it wont. If i shut the car off, and i leave it on vent, it will keep blowing air untill the battery dies.

I have never had this problem before, this only happend since a week ago.

Also, i just installed a set of headers, and forgot to route the positive cable different, so when i fired it up for the first time, the cable melted to the header. That sucked...

so i bought new red cables, and the car runs fine and everything.... but now i have this weird air vent problem. On top of that, my battery drains if i dont drive my car for a few days....

if i drive my car every few days, and remember to turn the air off everytime, then its not a problem, but it sure is freakin annoying!

Can ANYONE help me to locate what went wrong? I really would like to get this fixed, i am going to check any and all fuses while i await a response.

thanks to anyone that will be able to help me...

It didnt start doing this until recently? Thats kinda odd... The only way that could happen is incorrect wiring.

Check under the hood at the firewall by the distributor on the passenger side. There should be two seperate red wires there with either a red or black connector on them. One is to the AC/Heater blower motor control and the other is to the under hood light. These wires are spliced together inside the wire loom from the factory and have power coming straight from the battery. The blower motor should not work unless the key is on, so this is a good area to look.

Locate the blower motor relay.
Smack and/or replace relay.

hi, i checked all the fuses in the fuse box, none blown...

i will check the wiring in the morning....

also, i also seemed to have broken the plastic casing that goes to the cooling fan switch. It still plugs together, but since the plastic is broken, could the exposed metal be causing a problem? The fan still works right, but could that be screwing up the AC/Heater blower motor?

thanks for the replies!
