Bald spots on tires... burn them off?
Ok, I'm cruising late at night in my 89 IROC, when a silver probe with black racing stripes and a huge, gignantic, monsterous rear wing mounted on the back come to a stop in front of me on a two lane road. I thought he was turning left but then he suddenly took off, I chased him down and we were doing about 70 when he slams his brakes. I punch mine and realise that I'm going to hit him, so I skid my way into the on comming traffic lane and finally come to a stop. He drove off and I drove my way home with a noticable thump comming from my tires, thats gets much louder as I brake. I checked my tires and there seems to be a spot where the tread is flattened. What can I do? I just put two new tires on the back... can I just power brake my car and burn them off? Man, just because that kid lost doesn't mean he's got to be a **** about it. Thanx for the help, laterz.

I'm pretty sure you could burn them round again.. but there are places that have machines to do that for ya. Ask around the tire/alignment shops...

If the flat spot is a bald spot(has no or little tread) by the time you get the tire round again by doing a burnout, the whole tire will be bald.

you need new tires because like the person before me said the whole tire will be bald once your done but what I would do is have some fun before you get the new tires brake tork it and get your money's worth out of them. make a big cloud. It will make a nice picture. Then you can post it on here.

I had a 96 escort that I used to have for me to go back and forth to school. I used to always pull the e-brake and do 180's and crazy stuff. When they got spots in them i just rotate to the front and did a e-brake stand and burn those suckers round. Of course that was a ford and i would never treat my 92 that way.

Hah! ive had to do the same dodge before. a friend was tailing someone with his new GTI VR6, and i was in the left lane (we agreed not to race, after a few scary times before) and suddenly, the person in front of him hit the brakes, so he had to dart into MY lane. so i had to pull into the left lane, through a small opening in the median. i lucked out, because there wasn't too many cars there, and they all stopped when they saw that.
my friend was shaking after that, and for some strange reason i wasn't bothered at all, nobody was hurt. i pointed out to him thats what happens when you tail someone, like an a§§.
still, sucks about the tires!
