Valvoline Maxlife Opinions?

My Z28 is just 100 miles shy of the 200,000 mile mark. The LG4 has never had any major work. It does use a quart of oil every 1500 miles or so. I've used nothing but Castrol and changed only every 7,500 miles since new.

Any experience with the Max Life oil?

works good for me. I had a slight leak and slightly noisy valves but it quieted them and stopped the leak. Runs fine too.

I think it works pretty good. My friends Formula has bad valve seals and no more smoke up at the start. I'm glad that somebody else knows that changing the oil every 3,000 is a load of bull. The oil companies made that $hit up.

I can't complain about Max Life at all. It's worked good for my car so far.

7500 mi eh? thats a little odd, so say its a lie, why does oil wear thin at around 4000 miles? and pressure drop from a clogged filter? i dont care about cost of oil, i rather baby my motor...

Scoob, I'm not lying, every 7500 miles since brand new according to Schedule II of the maintenance manual that came with the car. I did however change the filter at every change instead of every other as the book says. Nearly 200 K virtually trouble free miles. Of course changing the oil every 3K won't hurt and only costs $10 to 20.

BTW, Ive only changed the ATF once at 145,000 miles. (Book says 100,000, I let that one slip) Tranny is fine with no problems ever.

I sent the Mobil 1 oil from my Vette - 46,000 miles, last change 7500 miles back, to Titan Labs, and everything was Grade A.

I put some in and it fixed the smoke on cold start up. Still change oil every 3k miles though!

If it ain't broke don't fix it... stay with what you are using... I would change at least the filter a little more often...

I used to change mine every 3K when I was running standard motor oil. Since I switched to synthetic blend, I go 6K between every oil and filter change with no problems at all. The oil is more than likely still ok at 6K as far as viscosity goes, but I think it's dirty enough by then to warrant changing.
