Rocker arm nuts coming loose??
Hey guys my rockers are starting to chadder real bad again and i need to adjust them but its only been like 4 thousand miles since i last did them so why are these nuts backing off?? Here are some things to think about incase you were wondering, World product s/r heads, bad valve guides, and for some reason some of the rockers don't sit dead straight, kinda like the stud and pushrod hole arn't lined up. Thats just crappy world machining right? thanks guys

Are they Poly locks or the stock style jam nut?
Could be the poly locks backing off or the rockers wearing, or a few cam lobes on the way out. Or bad lifters. Or low oil pressure.
On a small bock chev its not unusual for the rocker to appear to be not exactly squarely located over the valve.
just the way the valve train is layed out.

hydraulic or solid cam? your not low on oil right?
Also, it never hurts to re-adjust vavles, I would re do it jsut because I want the car to be in tip-top shape!

best guess is the stock rocker nuts need replaced second most likely are poly locks not locked down right, but you should check everything already mentioned.

Well they are stock stamped steel rockers with the normal nut on them, I have plenty of oil pressure, and yes somtimes I am pretty low on oil cause cause the valve guides are bad and it burns it up so fast. The lowest I have ever been is a quart and a half. I am completly topped of rigth now with mobil 1 fully synthetic 10w30.

The lock nuts are losing their lock.
As long as you continue to run that garbage instead of real rockers, or even some better ones that still use lock nuts, probably the easiest thing to do is simply to add a jam nut on top of each lock nut.
The rockers aren't supposed to be straight. They're supposed to be sideways just enough to force the valve to turn. So what you describe is perfectly normal.

if the stock style rocker jam nut looses its tension its a
very strong indication of overheated valvetrain.
Low oil will cause this as the valvesprings are at the end of the food chain in the oiling system. (yes the valve springs get hot and are cooled by oil)
If you ran the motor low on oil its very likely the valvesprings and or rockers overheated, screwing up the rocker nut tension.
get some rocker nuts off and old motor or buy some new ones. they are cheap.
Do not install or remove the rocker nuts with a air ratchet or impact gun. the heat will kill the tension.
Stock rocker nuts last the life of the motor and then some. thats y u can always find good ones at the wreckers. The only thing that kills the rockers nuts is exessive heat.

Typical aftermarket valve covers lack the factory design
valve cover oil directors.
this causes the rocker and ball to not recieve proper oiling.
Many aftermarket parts reduce durability.
this only adds to the problem...
Stock valve covers with the drippers are best for stock type rockers.
