code 33

I just changed all the coolant and hoses, on my '83 Z-28 with a 305 CFI. First I was pulling a code 13 (changed cts sensors fixed the problem) The whole time, the engine would rev to 2200 rpms and then start missing and backfiring. Would idle just fine and rev just fine until 2200. I am now pulling a code 33 and it seems like I'm running rich. What do I need to do to fix this?

I have all the wires routed correctly, and havent changed anything else.

thanks

It's a vacume leak or bad map. Check the vacume at idle, it should be around 20 inchs. Also check vacume at the sensor and hose. If it's ok, replace the MAP sensor, or test it with a multi meter and a vacume pump.

I could be wrong as I don't know much about '83s but I think he has an MAF sensor not MAP. If youre getting a 33 and you have MAF first make sure your TPS is set properly and then replace the relays for the MAF sensor. They are on the firewall on the drivers side (2). And if that doesn't do it see if you can try someones working sensor before outright replacing your MAF sensor as they are expensive and it might not be neccessary.

No such thing as a MAF sensor on the crossfire TBI motor. It is indeed equipped with a MAP sensor. If he follows Blue's advice, he should get it figured out.

BadBlue91RS: how do I check the vacuum? Sorry for the newbie questions, I havent had to deal with this sort of stuff before.

Also, there is a spot on one of the tbi's where there is a nipple for a vacuum hose (air pump maybe?), but no hose. I think I will stop at the hardware store and get a cap just in case
