What how do you prevent rust from eating through your paint?

I tried my best sanding down the rust on my S-10 before covering it with rustoleum, but this winter here in Chicago has been brutal and the rust on the bottom of the doors is just making the paint flake off...what do I do??

Thanks.

If it's coming from underneath, about the only thing you can do is treat the back side somehow... POR-15 works well for that but you have to get it applied to the source, which sometimes means disassembly of the vehicle; replace the metal; make sure the drain holes are clear; rinse the car with known non-salt water.

Smearing more Bondo over it and squirting another coat of paint on it won't cure it.
