air con
Hi iv'e recently purchased a 1989 iroc convertible, which seems to run ok but i seem to have a problem with the air con ..when it,s sat ticking over (even when warm)with the heater blowing on hot
the clutch at the front of the unit keeps engageing and disengageing. Is this correct or not , it certainly seem to drag the engine rev,s down when it comes in. Can anybody advise please
cheers

Yup, low of Freon. It's supposed to do that if it's low. There's a low pressure shut-off switch that makes it cycle.
Put a couple of cans of Freon in it and see if it stays operated.
It puts a sizeable load on the engine. That's normal.

Sounds like it could be low on freon. Or maybe bad switch. Check level first.
