What does that mean?

Okay, to be more specific, what does that tell you about your concoction? What does the listing of metals and nonmetals tell you? Just curious...

...

Why would anyone want to contaminate a good product such as Delvac 1 with another product? Was there something missing from the Delvac that you felt you needed in your sump?

My guess based on that chart is that since the numbers show how much element is present, it reflects how well the oil protects the engine from wear. The non-metals(and some metals) are additives that prevent wear, some may be biproducts of combustion. TBN must be a measure of the amount of certain additives.

Molybdenum.

Delvac has none. Redline has tons. Mixing half/half still gives me more than 5 times more moly than standard Mobil 1 Super Syn. I believe in Moly ... but, Redline uses tons. I also really like the properties of Delvac 1 and thought they would be a great mix so I gave it a try.

I have never heard of Delvac. What is it? Synthetic, semi syn, mineral based? What's the scoop?

I see your idea about the molybdenum though. Since most of the engine assembly compounds are rich with that, hey, like the Red Line assembly lube, it could only be good to have plenty of it in the oil...Interesting...

It's called "Mobil Delvac 1". IMHO, it's the best synthetic oil that Mobil 1 makes that is available to the public.

... it's labeled as a "Synthetic Super Premium motor oil for most severe high performance engines"

I have never seen it before at the auto store. Well, they might just have to order me a few quarts. I hope they make 15-50!!!
