is this corvette stuff or l98??

Ok so i pulled the oil pan off, and found the vette one will not work on the T/A. Now bolted to the main caps is a baffle plate. Is this a l98 plate, or corvette specific? It is important cuz, i now have to mod my 305 pan to fit it.
Also I have found that i can't use my 19,000 mile roller timing chain, on this non roller block. I wasn't aware of a difference, but it won't fit.
All help welcome, as i don't remember what baffling was on the Iroc.

I'm not sure on the windage tray but I really don't think it will make too much differance if you use it or not. Stock type (solid) hold oil up where the crank can hit it so they really don't do much. I would take it off and use the 305 pan.

Good luck,
Charlie

I bought a '91 Corvette L98 motor to put in my '89 Iroc and found that the oil pan will not clear the frame. The baffle and wind scrapage is part of the corvette's pan on the '91. I had to find another 1 pc seal oil pan at the bone yard for my '89 fbody.

No not all Corvettes have 4 bolt mains. Perhaps the earlier ones did.

The piece on the oil pump iI believe is vette specific, my L98 never had one. Vette oil pans will NOT work on an Fbody, they have the same bolt pattern, but if you compare the two you can see that the sump area has a different shape to it, and the vette's will not clear the Fbody's Kmember.
